30 is Golden!

Thanks to my superstar husband and great friends and family, my 30th birthday was all that a girl (or woman...now that I'm 30 and all) could ask for!

It started out with yummy pancakes made by my hubby. Then my little Kiki gave me a little doody in the house because she was afraid of the horrible wind outside. How thoughtful of her to think of me on my birthday!

After that I went to my painting class where one of my classmates brought in some yummy soda bread. It looked like a huge cookie and was perfect sweetness for a morning treat. They put candles in the bread and sang to me and everything. Also, I was able to finish my first still life picture that day! See Oil Painting #4 post.

After my class I went in to work. Not that I worked much, because my co-workers had quite a bit of fun planned for me. My office was decorated with streamers and confetti and my hilarious boss gave me a bunch of gifts x30. So she gave me 30 granola bars, 30 rolls of toilet paper, 30 clementines, 30 strawberries, 30 carrots, 30 packs of gum, 30 pennies, 30 nickles, 30 dimes, 30 quarters, 30 pens, 30 doggy treats, 30 bottles of water, etc. She really got into the turning 30 on the 30th thing, in case you couldn't tell!

Then my co-workers had a cake made for me with one of my baby pictures on it! I was so surprised to see that picture on a cake. One of the ladies at my work somehow contacted Ryan and got the picture from him! It was awesome!

So after all this fun and excitement you would think that this was sufficient for a birthday...but the party was just beginning. We had a huge party at the Old Spaghetti Factory where we invited friends, family, book clubbers, co-workers and neighbors. I was so happy to see all the people that were able to make it out! Ryan got balloons, flowers and a big cake to go along with all the yummy food.

All the partyers having fun.

Me blowing out all 30 candles!

My Awesome Family

After the party we headed home and while I was carrying my presents into the house, I managed to drop a heavy bottle on my big toe. The bottle didn't break...my toe totally cushioned the fall...but the toe was hurting, as you can imagine. So Ryan got me an ice pack and put on some jazz music to help us settle down for the evening. Randomly, a song by Diana Krall came on that made us both laugh, called Popsicle Toes. The song obviously mentions cold toes and it also talks about a birthday party....how fitting!

My 30th birthday was all that I wanted it to be all thanks to my superstar hubby. I love you Ryan!
