Oil Painting #5, #6, #7 & #8

I haven't been posting my paintings! How bad of me. Here are four that I have worked on over the spring/summer. My painting class is having a break until the weather is a little cooler, so it may be a while before I have some more to post.

Oil Painting #5

This is a painting of some red rock on southern Utah. I like it because of the different values of each of the layers of mountains. It isn't the best looking, but I learned a lot from this painting.

Painting #6

This is also a painting of red rock. I am the world's slowest painter, so on this one I tried to paint it really fast. So it isn't perfect...but that was the point...to be less of a perfectionist. I like it!

Painting #7

One of the doctors that I work for likes being a photographer when he isn't fixing people with gut issues. He took this picture; and since I liked it I asked if I could paint it. There were a lot of elements in this painting, so hopefully I got a few thinks right. Sky, mountain, trees, dead trees, grass, rocks, water, snow... The picture was taken in one of our lovely Utah mountains.

Painting #8

This is the Arno! As in the river that runs through Florence, Italy. The picture I took that I painted this from was taken from the Ponte Vecchio. The bridge in the painting is the bridge just west of the Ponte Vecchio. Ah, Italia!
